CRUISING THE SOUTH PACIFIC AND BEYOND ON
MESSALINA
A Little About Me
My name is Jonathan and I hail from the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada. I accidentally developed a sailing problem when I was looking for an alternative, affordable housing situation. Turns out you can live on a sailboat and you can even sail a boat I could afford across oceans, seemed liked a good idea to me. I purchased the now named Messalina, moved onto her and slowly started preparing for a long solo ocean passage.
After a couple different careers and some odd jobs I decided having a trade would be ideal for working and traveling. I have worked in the construction industry for many years, mostly framing and forming but have also managed some projects including a Georgie Award Winning Renovation.
I have cruised the Straight of Georgia as captain of Messalina for eight years with family and friends and have since logged around 10,000 blue water nautical miles mostly solo including a 3600 nautical mile crossing from BC to Nuka Hiva. My plan is to keep travelling on Messalina and working my way wherever the wind takes me.
I am available for paid crew, captain positions on cruising yachts or deliveries and for construction projects in remote locations.
