All throughout Vanuatu there are bits and pieces from WWII. Santo has a couple different attractions; probably the most famous is the wreck of the President Coolidge. It is a massive wreck still mostly intact and a very popular dive site. Because we only free dive and the Coolidge is too deep we had to settle for Million Dollar Point. It seems rather than ship military equipment back to the states or simply give it to the island people to use the best alternative was to litter the ocean floor with it. Maybe in the long run at a $5 entry fee the island people are getting the most out of it. We all paid our entry fee and had an enjoyable day checking out the different bits and the fish that have made homes out of it.
